I am a psychoanalyst. I offer psychoanalysis and psychoanalytically-oriented counselling to individual adults and to couples. First and foremost what I offer is the opportunity for you to speak about your problems and to be heard.
About
Why See Me?
People come to me with a wide variety of difficulties. These include anger, loneliness and relationship difficulties, suicidality, sexual problems, marriage and parenting issues, childhood sexual abuse, as well as mental health problems, including anxiety, depression and psychiatric diagnoses such as bipolar disorder. Whatever your difficulty, in being listened to closely by someone who is neither a friend nor a family member you may experience some relief.
Why Psychoanalysis?
Whilst just talking about your present problems can be helpful it is often only a beginning. Over the course of several interviews you may come to recognise a pattern in what you tell me, a pattern of suffering in your life. Psychoanalysis is then a possibility. In the initial phase of the work I will assess whether this longer-term work might be appropriate for you.
About Me
I am recognised as a psychoanalyst by The Freudian School of Melbourne, School of Lacanian Psychoanalysis. I have over fifteen years experience, in both public and private settings. My initial training is as a social worker, and I am accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers as a Mental Health Social Worker. I frequently present lectures, papers and seminars on clinical and theoretical issues both within The Freudian School of Melbourne and elsewhere.

Transport and Parking
On street parking. The location is well-served by public transport.
Fees
$130 per session. If you are referred by a General Practitioner under the Better Mental Health Care Initiative you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. In exceptional circumstances some reduction in the fee may be possible.
